130 OF OUR ARTWORKS AT SHOWING AT MAITLAND REGIONAL ART GALLERY

Saturday, 1st August was a big day for the ELLIOTT EYES COLLECTION as our exhibition started. It runs until the 4th October and is only a few hours from Sydney. Kim Blunt did an exceptional job on the curation and the installation team did such a great job with the hang.

I got into the act with a short interview when I was there on one of the hang days. If you would like to get a sense of the collection and some of the works just copy and paste this link

OUR COLLECTION IS BEING SHOWN AT MAITLAND REGIONAL ART GALLERY

It will be great to see the works in a new setting and in new relationships. The gallery is creating a catalogue for this exhibition and will be a memorable memento for those that see the show.

Michael and Gordon will be heading up there several times while the exhibition is running including Saturday 1st August 2020 and Saturday 29th August 2020. If you plan to head up it would be great to see you on one of these days as we can take you through the exhibition in person.

As a good deal of the major works will be held at MRAG we are holding off visits to our home over this time. They will recommence once the works are back and rehung for a new look.

A huge thanks you to the staff of MRAG especially Kim Blunt for her work in getting this together and for all those that have supported us. Also thanks goes to the artists and their galleries who have allowed us to use images of their works in the catalogue.

I certainly hope you can make it up to Maitland during this time. It will be a highlight in these Covid darkened days.

COVID AND VISITS TO OUR HOME

All visits to our collection have been put on hold until mid October.

This is for the safety of us all. Hand sanitiser will be provided and surfaces will all be sanitised both prior and post your visit. Social distancing will be required during visit if participants are not related or from the same household. Even the small numbers may be broken into pairs. If circumstances require visits may be postponed at short notice and rescheduled for a more appropriate time.

Numbers will be reduced to a maximum of 4 people.

Times and days will remain the same and also visits by appointment.

Please contact us if you have any further questions.

EYES ON THE ARTIST : JULIAN MEAGHER & LOUIS PRATT

Both Julian Meagher and Louis Pratt have studio space in the same building. This makes it perfect for a combined studio visit to both of these artist spaces.

Julian’s paintings hold your attention and can be quite diverse. Originally they concentrated on figurative work but now extend to varied subjects from portraits, still life and landscapes. His oils on canvas give the viewer a sense of person or place.

Louis is at the front of technology and art. His practice combines both to create his works. Known mainly as a sculptor he also incorporates screen print techniques in his paintings.

Numbers limited so don’t miss out seeing the workspace of these artists and hearing about their work and techniques.
